Justin Bieber Facts and Fan Page

Updated on September 16, 2014

Even if you hate the idea of teen idols, it is impossible to deny this kid's talent. Justin Bieber can play a number of instruments including Guitar, Piano and Drums, he writes all his own songs and he has been performing onstage since he was about 6 years old. His rapid ascent into stardom is no accident as he has also proven himself to be a top-notch marketer that used viral videos and a grassroots radio campaign to ignite his career.

If you have not yet seen the movie, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, I highly recommend you watch it. It is both an entertaining film as well as a fascinating biography of a truly amazing musical prodigy. As you watch it, you can't help but wonder if this is the way Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart would have risen to fame if he lived in our times. Not that I am comparing JB to Mozart -- because I definitely am not making that comparison -- but his rise as a prodigy just makes me wonder if other prodigies would rise in the same "social media" manners today.

For much of 2009 and 2010, JustinBieber was a top trending topic on Twitter. It has slowed down since that time but he is still often a top topic on the site. He is the first megastar that was discovered on youtube and it has started a trend as many other current stars, like Carly Rae Jepson have also been spotted as a result of their youtube videos. He was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun, a Hollywood manager/agent. Ultimately, Braun became JB's manager and introduced him to Usher who was immediately floored by his talent. Unfortunately, despite that talent the major record companies all initially said no and suggested that Bieber go to the Disney Channel to launch there. That was the place where all teen idols were launched.

However, Braun, JB and Usher knew that he was a serious star and they had no interest in going down the Disney road of cheap acting gigs with occasional music gigs. Instead, they conjured up the idea to take JB around to radio stations across the country with his own single, One Time. JB would play on the air at each station that would allow him and he built a huge following of young girls across the country. They exploded Twitter with tweets about Justin and eventually the record companies could not ignore him any longer.

Now, Justin is a megastar and to give you a sense just how big Bieber Fever is...well Ticketmaster created special meet and greet JB tickets (in the first five rows with an opportunity to meet Justin backstage) for the fall tour. Ticketmaster sold those tickets for $450 per ticket...now those same meet and greet JB tickets are selling between $2,000 to $5,000 each!! Yes, JustinBieber is in demand!

If you don't find the Bieber clothing or posters you like here, then you should also check out the official Justin Bieber Store at his website.

The result is legendary, since his first album was released in March 2010, Bieber has sold over 15 million albums, was named Artist of the Year by the American Music Awards in 2010 and has been nominated for numerous Grammy's. And on March 1st of this year, he turned 18! Yes, he has achieved all that success before he was 19 years old.
